2025 10 Fort Meade

Oct 7, 2025, CHAPTER QUARTERLY REPORT

The Ft. Geroge G. Meade Chapter continues to mature as a chapter.  We are having larger turnouts at our monthly luncheons and have been able to book some dynamic speakers.   Our 26 Sep chapter meeting marked the first meeting of the new Chapter Year (1 Sep – 31 Aug) and our return from the summer recess.  The chapter changed its luncheon venue from Mission Barbeque in Ellicott City to The Greene Turtle in Arundel Mills. Our first luncheon of the Chapter Year consisted of a magic show for friends and family.

1. Current membership. 72

2. Membership gains/losses. 5 new members in 2025, 4 new members in 2024.  Several memberships are up for renewal this year.

3. Initiatives to attract and recruit new members:

  • Participation in the Ft. Meade Retiree Appreciation Day event on 24 Oct.  Will also attend the MOAA Leadership Seminar in Hershey, PA where we will gain insight on new recruitment methods/ideas.

4. Recent past quarter and next quarter planned Chapter activities.

  • Jul-Aug: Chapter summer recess
  • Sep: Magic show for members and their children.
  • Oct: JROTC luncheon
  • Nov: MD and National Legislative update
  • Dec: Holiday Gala with MOWW

5. Particularly good speakers whom you would recommend to the other chapters.

  • Pam Biddlecomb – Arundel House of Hope.

6. Advocacy in Action/MD Legislation support.

  • Chapter Legislative Committee Chair, Dave Dragics, is our Legislative Liaison to the Maryland Military Coalition, where he is its Legislative Director. In that position, he is deeply involved in Maryland legislative actions affecting military families. Dave will provide a legislative update at the 22 November chapter meeting.

7. Other Information

  • We plan to partner with the GEN Meade MOWW Chapter and their Holiday Gala in December.
  • We continue to actively engage our membership to fill open chapter leadership positions.
