Every year the Maryland Council of Chapters, in conjuction with The Adjutant General of Maryland, presents an award to the National Guard Unit of the Year.

The 175th Wing of the Maryland Air National Guard held its annual Airman Recognition Ceremony at Warfield Air National Guard Base at Martin State Airport on December 7, 2025. The ceremony recognized the accomplishments of Airmen from the Maryland Air National Guard by presenting awards to the Outstanding Airmen of the Year, recognizing Community College of the Air Force graduates, and highlighting the successes of the wing’s missions throughout the past year. Included in the event was the presentation of the Maryland MOAA Council of Chapters MD National Guard Unit of the Year Aware for 2024 award to the Commanders of the 175th Operations and Maintenance Groups, subordinate units of the 175th Air Wing. Andy Fallon, COL,  USA (Ret), was the Council’s lead in coordinating with the 175th for inclusion in the event, a role he has held for the past 10 years.
