Chapter Report to Council

1. Membership - 40

2. Holding on, several good contacts, no results yet

3. Several of the Chapter members are working with friends and contacts for new members.  Recently passed out my card to contacts at events.

4. Have not used the national support for recruiting yet.

5. Activities in chronological order:
   • 11 September– first fall meeting – Cathy Hampton spoke and updated the members and joined the board meeting providing insight and information toward the future.

Held meeting at the Waldorf VFW Post #8810.   Normal social time and excellent meal prepared by the Waldorf Post Auxiliary.

• 4 October – participated in Cruisin’ Southern Maryland car rally for Charlotte Hall Veterans Home

6. Future activities and meetings
   • Currently distributing $100 contributions to the 13 JROTC units in Southern Maryland
   • 9 November – LaPlata Veterans Day Parade.  We intend to drive 3 or 4 cars with riders
   • 11 November – Leonardtown Veterans Day Parade participation with 2 or 3 cars
   • 15 November – meeting at Waldorf VFW Post #8810
   • 13 December - Christmas party at Waldorf VFW Post
   • Chapter meetings are normally followed by our board meetings.

7.  Our chapter is now posting our newsletters on the state website.  The newsletter is published approximately two weeks prior to our meetings.
