2025 10 Susquehanna

As of 30 September 2025

1.  Current active membership.

The Susquehanna Chapter has a total of 53 active members.

2.  Increase (+) or decrease (-) in membership since the last meeting.

We have lost 1 member due to death.

3.  Committee Module and Near Real Time (NRT) Report used for recruiting.

Each year we obtain a few new members through the Community Module Near Real Time Report out of an annual average of 50 candidates in our geographical area.

4.  Initiatives to attract new members.

Susquehanna Chapter uses several means of recruitment. The most effective approach is face-to-face communications with all current members being  recruiters. Additionally, we recruit during community outreach events, Harford County Veteran and Family Day and Retiree Appreciation Day on Aberdeen Proving Ground. We have 6 prospecrive members from the APG Retiree Appreciation Day on 11 Septemb.

The Chapter developed and distributed a survey to membership in an attempt to identify any concerns and, if necessary, adjust chapter priorities for meetings, speakers and communications. We had 65% participation. Based on responses, we will continue to hold general membership dinner meetings every other month and will continue to review our newsletter and website.

The Chapter is making use of the MOAA National procedure of sending mass emails of invitations to our chapter meetings to those National members they identify in our area

Member retention is as important as recruiting. Our membership is tracked by a robust and restricted Chapter Administrative Website, separate from our public facing website, which accounts for type of membership (Regular, Regular Life, SSP, SSP Life, Honorary) personal data, dues status, with pull downs for current, lapsed, and historical record of all payments, donations, and contributions as well as lists of deceased, expired, or resigned memberships.

5.  Recent and upcoming chapter activities.

During the current reporting period, the chapter had two meetings of the General Membership and two meetings of the Board of Directors (BOD).

7. Social media.

The chapter's website and newsletter continue to be our primary means of communication with the membership. The chapter has both a Facebook public page and a Facebook private group which are kept up to date with current activities and information.

8. Legislative Affairs

34 of our members have registered on the Maryland Legislative Action Center with  44 actions taken.
